Oh no, don't say it's true? Really? Personal Trainers eat cake as well? Shut the front door! I have recently come back from a cheeky little break in Devon with the family (yes the weather was rubbish, you can feel better now). It was also my little daughters 2nd birthday, which was awesome, little Jess got spoilt rotten with a tonne of presents, and made my life really enjoyable when it came to packing the car on the way home.
When the dreaded cake was being passed around, I had this flash of guilt, thinking, Personal Trainers shouldn't eat cake! Then I immediately thought of one of my favourite slogans, do as I say, not as I do (which I use in both parenting and personal training BTW). It got me thinking about you guys and girls, I hear it all the time, you were doing so well on your diet, but then you just had to go out and have a few drinks, or your best friend forced a burger down your throat. The trouble is, these little blow outs, can lead to a whole weekend of indulgence, because you think, "oh well, I may as well have a few more". I think the key is to really nip it in the bud, generally life your life on the 80-20 rule. 80% of the time you eat well and train hard, then 20% you enjoy life and good food. When ever you do have a slip up, so what, make sure you pack your workout bag for the morning and work it off. Just make sure you workout more than you slip up. If you need someone to give you a kick up the butt when you do slip up, you should join our online coaching programme, you will think differently if you have your personal trainer on the end of the phone!
